Garter Lane Arts Centre, Monday 23rd Oct – 7:30pm to 9pm
‘Creative Identities’ has been developed in collaboration with Garter Lane Arts Centre and is partnered by IDI, (Institute of designers in Ireland), DCCOI (Design & Craft Council of Ireland), ICAD (Institute of Creative Advertising & Design), LEO, Waterford City and County Council; and Creative Ireland. The main theme is ‘identity’. It looks at how creative practice engages with challenges; the role design can play in helping local enterprise; and how a sense of identity manifests itself in an urban centre.
While it’s design led, it has a trans disciplinary inclusive approach, including designers, artists, developers, musicians, architects, sociologists, economists, researchers, and environmentalists. The idea has emerged from conversations about developing a cultural hub within cities. Each of the three events has a core focus:·
- Identity and Wellbeing.
- Identity and Digital Innovation.
- Identity and Social Change/ Urban Regeneration/ Community Integration.
The first event takes place next Monday 23rd October 2017.
