THE HISTORY OF WITCHCRAFT & FEMINISM

Bank Lane, Thursday April 24th Doors open 19.00

Witchcraft and feminism have long empowered women and marginalised communities to challenge oppression and reclaim their power. In this talk, Lora O’Brien, a modern Draoí (practitioner of Irish magic) explores the significance of this in today’s society.

Drawing on ancient Irish traditions, Lora highlights how witchcraft has historically helped women push against social norms, offering a path to empowerment and self-expression.

Lora O’Brien has been a dedicated priest of the Irish Goddess Mórrígan since 2004. With over 30 years of experience exploring and teaching Irish spirituality, mythology, and witchcraft, Lora has authored seven books, including works on Irish history, folklore, and Pagan practice. The eighth book, The Mórrígan: Ireland’s Goddess, will be published by Llewellyn this year. Lora regularly speaks at international events, including workshops and conferences in the US and Europe, sharing their knowledge of Irish spiritual traditions, witchcraft, and decolonisation.

Doors open at 7pm, talk starts at 7.30pm – come down early to grab a good seat!
