Samhain Poetry Workshop with Molly Twomey at WGOA. 26/10/2024, 14:30

As the veil between worlds grows thin this Samhain, join Molly to explore themes of transition and change. In this generative poetry workshop, we will read poetry and respond to prompts inspired by Samhain, the upcoming Celtic festival marking the transition between the lighter half of the year and the darker half. Celebrating thresholds between life and death, waking and dreaming, and the mundane and mystical, we will write about change, ritual, communication with ancestors, and more in a supportive and calm environment. No prior writing experience is needed—just bring a notebook, a pen, and a desire to create.
Molly Twomey grew up in Lismore, Co. Waterford. Her debut collection, Raised Among Vultures, was published in 2022 by The Gallery Press. It won the Southword Debut
Collection Poetry Award and was shortlisted for the Seamus Heaney Poetry Prize for Best First Collection. She was awarded the 2023 Ireland Chair of Poetry Bursary and is
working on her second collection.
