The Shape of Lies is a series of sculpture/reliefs that are a meditation on identity and materialism. Utilising finely calibrated outlines, Gilloway endeavours to occupy a space somewhere between the descriptive short hand of the emoji and the disipline of a Haiku, emitting a tension disquieting in its suggestion of presence through absence.

Stephen Gilloway: Originally from Dublin, Stephen attended the  Dun Laoghaire School of Art and Design ( now I.A.D.T.) where he studied painting, drawing and print. After graduating he practised as a designer and taught painting at a private art school for 10 years before moving to Waterford in 2013. He is currently Artist in Residence with the Aiseiri Progression Program. This is his first one man show.
