Digital App Moving Murals

This year marks a huge step forward for The Walls Project – after 7 years running the Waterford Walls festival and transforming the city with incredible mural artwork, this year, as part of the Brightening Air | Coiscéim Coiligh Festival, Waterford Walls has gone virtual.

Multiple communities, young people and artists, both nationally and internationally, have worked together to create #MovingMurals – An augmented reality hidden in plain sight, and accessible through a free-to-download app.

People all over the world can now download the Bepart app for free, and see a selection of murals in the city move before their very eyes.

This app invites you to experience moving mural artwork that has been animated by school (St Pauls Community College Waterford) and university students (Limerick School of Art and Design) across Ireland, working alongside artists, The Walls Project and Italian non-profit BEPART to transform public street art works into augmented realities.

Download the bepart free smartphone app via the Apple App Store or Google Play Store

Panel Talks

As part of the festival The Walls Project, Waterford Walls International Street Art Festival and Goma will be presenting a panel talk entitled An Evening of Moving Murals discussing the journey of the #MovingMurals project and the new skills learnt along the way.
