The 6th Annual Waterford Film Festival will be held between the 9th-11th of November 2012 at the Greyfriars Art Gallery.
For the second year in a row it will be focusing exclusively on promoting short films and screenplays, especially independent short films. This will enable the presentation of an increased amount of short films.
The Waterford City Council Award for Best Short Film will be open to both short fiction and documentary films.
2011 saw a high standard of films shown in Waterford and a particularly difficult task of choosing a programme from the hundreds of high quality submissions from filmmakers around the world. 2012, will also see the 4th year of the Screenplay competition, 2011 attracted a huge number of excellent submissions, many from first time writers. The Best Screenplay Award will be open to all screenplays for un-filmed short films. The Deadline for the Short Film Award is July 16, and June 29 for the Script Competition.
