Hooks and Crookes
Coastguard Cultural Centre, Tramore, Friday 24th November at 8pm
The Much Travelled and well liked local Sea Shanty Group, Hooks and Crookes, are hosting a concert on Friday 24th November at 8pm in the Coastguard Cultural Centre. They have produced a new CD with its headline song written and composed by Joe Phelan called “The Seahorse”. This Song tells the story of the loss in 1816 of 360 lives in Tramore bay which resulted in the erection of the Metal man and the three and two towers pinpointing the entrance to Tramore Bay and its dangers to shipping. The evenings programme will be supported by Claire Musgrave performing with Damien Kehoe, Derek Flynn reading and Songs from Newfoundland, Fintan Power poetry of our time and Davy’s List a traditional Instrumental grouping of local talent and of course the wonderful sea songs and variety of cultural mix from Hooks and Crookes themselves.
Entrance fee: €5 to cover admin costs and there will be a free draw based on the entrance ticket
