Through the spectrum of Damien Dempsey’s annual Christmas concert at Vicar Street, we meet Dempsey and three members of his audience.
With themes of addiction, loss but also hope and positivity, Dempsey’s music is a mirror for the pain his fans feel, offering comfort, comradery and ultimately providing peace as they ‘sing all their cares away’.
We get to know them, their stories, their struggles and how they emerged from the darkness finding self-acceptance, peace and hope.
Part documentary, part concert film, this is a celebration of spirituality and the power of music to heal. Presented in crisp black and white, there is clarity in the chaos and the jubilance of the collective music experience cannot be denied.
