EXHIBITION – A SPACE FOR LISMORE – PATTERN LANDSCAPE

St Carthage Hall, Chapel Street, Lismore.  15th – 17th March & opening 15th March @ 5.00 p.m. – 6.30 p.m. 12.00 p.m – 5.00 p.m. all other days.

Made by way of the myriad conversations on mountainside, in abbeys, cathedrals, libraries, gardens and throughout the town of Lismore. Pattern Landscape is an exhibition of work co-created by members of the Lismore community and artist Carol Anne Connolly. Each pattern is a response to the question – if we were to create patterns to represent our relationship to nature in our current age, what would they be or what would they symbolise?

Carol Anne Connolly’s visual art practice is primarily concerned with the cultural, civic and social ideas that relate to ‘place’ in contemporary society. She draws from a variety of media, strategies and techniques to create work that is often driven by site-specific, historic and community intervention. In considering landscape as a reflection of our relationship and attitude towards nature, Connolly, through an artistic lens seeks to investigate, represent or re-imagine contemporary ideas that relate to our environs.

Admission is free.
