Sixth Extinction release their brand new album “X and Why” in Central Arts.
Taking elements from a multitude of genres and bastardising then into the fierce animal with the ability to crush bones from 200 yards! That’s what Sixth Extinction are all about and we urge you to check them out.
Formed in 2013 in Clonmel with a heavier death metal leanings, Sixth Extinction toured the length and breadth of Ireland on the back of their self titled debut EP ( Released in 2016)
While writing the full length follow up the realization of wanting to incorporate more direct , hook driven melodic sound was quickly realized and the single “vivid black” was released, followed by the acoustic single “emerge and see” with the live shows becoming more intense.
In May 2017 Sixth Extinction finally entered Antfarm studios to record their debut album with acclaimed producer Tue Madsen ( who’s credits include the Grammy nominated Meshuggah )
2018 is the year the debut album will finally be unleashed, Titled “X and Why” Sixth Extinction goes leaps and bounds above the debut EP and the reaches into the areas never ventured before by the band.
