An exhibition of paintings by Sarah Hogan BA (HONS) Fine Art

Private View 3rd February @7pm

A collection of paintings produced over the artist’s time in London responding to the theme Landscape, the work explores the contrasts and similarities between the built environment and the textures and patterns collected from the natural landscape.  This exhibition marks the artist return to Ireland after an 8 and a half year absence where the artist has been working as an Art and Photography teacher in East London.  During her time in London she has taken part in solo exhibitions at the Islington Arts Factory and Christkitch as well as producing work for commission.

Sarah is a graduate of Crawford College of Art and Design and since graduating in 2007 has taken part in over 14 group or solo exhibitions, fringe festivals and art festivals through out Ireland. Her work was included in the RDS Student Art Awards Exhibition the year of graduating, and has also been purchased as part of permanent collections in University College Cork and Cork Institute of Technology where it also featured in publications for the College.

Sarah works in the medium of Acrylic on board using heavy body mediums and glazes to create texture, he work explores a pallet of colours not usually associate with the landscape which takes the work into abstraction.

‘ A Painting Portfolio’ runs until the 27th of February in the upstairs gallery in the Coastguard Cultural Centre.
