Newfoundland have created a signature sound that they have become known for, putting their own stamp on traditional tunes as well as contemporary songs, featuring four vocalists and five multi-instrumentalists in the band.
The group consists of Michael Grace (vocals, guitar, mandolin, bouzouki, bass, percussion), Evan Grace (vocals, banjo, guitar, mandolin), Tommy Keating (fiddle, flute, vocals, uilleann pipes), Aaron Mulhall (drums, percussion, vocals), and Tony Dunne (accordion, bodhrán).
The band’s first appearance was in front of a packed John Robert’s Square at this years Spraoi festival, where they played alongside award winning Welsh songwriter, Ryland Teifi. Since then, the online presence of Brew the Bones has been constantly growing and the band is in the process of recording their debut album. Including three vocalists, fiddle, flute, accordion, bouzouki, guitar and drums, the band has honed in on an alternative traditional style, mixing old with new. Their next outing is in the beautiful surroundings of Waterford’s Central Arts with well known local folk and traditional band, Newfoundland.
