PROFESSIONAL 2 DAY BLACKMAGIC ‘URSA’ FILM TRAINING WORKSHOP JULY 24 & 25

Waterford Arts Services has procured the highly rated 4K Blackmagic Ursa Camera for filmwork. In association with FilmLAB we are running a 2 day hands-on intensive Camera course designed to give the knowledge required to utilise the full advantages of shooting in glorious 4K.

Course Intro:

blackmagic-ursaThe course is designed to give participants an overview of the functions of the Blackmagic URSA Camera and how it operates with various accessories, as well as sound recording and lighting. It is aimed at camera people and filmmakers with a semi-advanced knowledge of filming, DOP, indie filmmaking.

Objective:
On completion of the course participants will have gained the knowledge required to operate the Blackmagic URSA camera, learn basic film making techniques with it including composition and working with different sound and lighting setups.

Date:
July 24, 25, – 10am to 6pm (Bring a packed lunch – tea and coffee will be provided)

Cost:
€120 per person (which will include 1 years membership of FilmLAB) 10 Places maximum.

Course Content:
Day 1 – July 24th

Morning:

  • Camera Functions & controls and lenses
  • Handling of camera.
  • Dismantling and assembling camera
  • Health and Safety and special considerations on URSA cameras

 Afternoon

  • Composition
  • Practical Exercises
  • Interior shooting/Interview set up

Day 2 – July 25th

Morning

  • Practical Exercises
  • Exterior shooting/location set up

Afternoon

  • Brief overview on Post production
  • Best practices for backing up media

Tutor:
Rupert MacCarthy-Morrogh MSc Rupert
Rupert is a DP, director and a partner in Cork’s Studio 5108 and SLR.ie. He has extensive experience the 4K Blackmagic URSA Camera. In his 20’s he worked as a Sound engineer before moving to Digital Video. He has lectured on digital film technology and run workshops for adobe and apple.
