November is ecstatic and jam packed in the Theatre Royal with a whole lot of Events and Activities for the whole family to enjoy culminating in the life of local theatre director and writer the late Bryan Flynn .


Life Of BryanThe Life of Bryan is a gala performance celebrating the life of theatre director and writer Bryan Flynn. Throughout Bryan’s career he directed hundreds of classics throughout Ireland not to mention his 3 original pieces, Pentimenti, Michael Collins and The All Star Wars. This special night in Waterford’s Theatre Royal will see many faces of Musical Theatre grace the stage to honour Bryan’s memory.

The Great American Songbook contains the most important and influential songs of the early 20th century and have been recorded by the greats like Bennett, Fitzgerald, Streisand and Sinatra. For many the songbook ends in the 1950’s, but our ‘greatest’ version goes a step further!!

Nutcracker Ballet
It’s Christmas and Clara receives a Nutcracker Doll as a present from her favourite Uncle. Her brother Fritz breaks it but her Uncle mends it for her, and all too soon it’s the end of the party and time for bed. Unable to sleep with the excitement, Clara goes downstairs to get her Nutcracker Doll and falls asleep under the Christmas Tree. The stroke of midnight sounds and the magic begins!!

Waterford Concert Orchestra is delighted to announce that The Snowman (music by Howard Blake, based on the picture book by Raymond Briggs) will be shown to live orchestral accompaniment at the Theatre Royal Waterford on November 30th. Hugely popular with families in 2011 and 2012 this promises to be a concert for all lovers of live music.

ABBA Forever
Believe it or not, it is forty years since they started and this terrific show celebrates with a loud and proud fanfare! It has played to full houses all over Ireland during their tours here for the past 5 years, and it packed every theatre on last year’s visit, when they received repeated standing ovations for what was one of the most memorable shows of the year!
